Cate McGowan is a nomadic soul from Georgia who’s temporarily settled in Florida, where she’s completing her Ph.D. She is the author of two books of fiction: True Places Never Are (Moon City Press), which won the Moon City Fiction Award, and These Lowly Objects (Gold Wake Press). She considers herself a cross-genre writer and has a variety of works—stories, poems, and essays—published in myriad literary outlets, including Glimmer Train, Crab Orchard Review, Tahoma Literary Review, Phoebe, Shenandoah, Barren, Stonecoast Review, Hypertext Magazine, and the Norton anthology, Flash Fiction International. She serves as the prose poetry editor for Pithead Chapel.
